Advocate

Simply put, advocacy is the act or process of supporting a cause or proposal.

United Way partners with programs, community leaders, government officials, and legislators across our regional community and the state to advocate for efforts and policies that create positive systemic changes in Education, Income, Health, and Basic Needs.

United Way is uniquely positioned to advocate for change because:

• We have diverse partners and relationships that span the public and private sectors.
• We have a network of United Ways across Michigan and the country that provide support, best practices, and strength in numbers.
• We can share what we have learned from our work and for what we have heard and learned from our regional community.
• United Way also seeks to empower others to advocate on behalf of the causes and issues that matter to them.
