Anonymous Donors Pledge $50,000, Call on Community to Equal It

February 5, 2015

The generosity of our region is simply amazing.

Anonymous donors have put up $50,000, challenging the community to match it with donations to United Way of the Battle Creek & Kalamazoo Region (UWBCKR).

These donors recognize the impact UWBCKR has on our region, an impact that comes from all of us working together for the common good. This challenge grant underscores that collective work.

This anonymous grant is intended to broaden the base of support for United Way-funded programs and partnerships in the areas of education, income and health.

At UWBCKR, we’re driven by a firm belief that every child deserves a good education, every person deserves a good-paying job, and everyone deserves accessible health care. Real, lasting change like this requires everyone to get engaged.

We’re deeply grateful for their gift and the challenge behind it: for all of us to change the story in our community.

To help meet the challenge, donations can be made in the following ways:

  •  Go to www.changethestory.org/give and click “Donate online.”
  • Send a check payable to UWBCKR to either United Way office: 34 W. Jackson St., Suite 4B, Battle Creek, MI, 49017; or 709 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI, 49007.
  •  Call United Way to arrange a donation at 269-962-9538 or 269-343-2524.

Thank you for your time, consideration and continued generous efforts to change the story in our region.
