Take An Inside Look At United 4 Change
August 10, 2015
In an earlier blog, we highlighted the work of United 4 Change, a business-led partnership focusing on early grade reading achievement and middle/high school career mentoring. The goal of U4C is to spur students to academic and career success.
Now you can see this program at work for yourself in a new video available on YouTube. It’s aimed at informing the community and inspiring more support and volunteerism. Check out the video by clicking on this link.
U4C was launched in 2012 by United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region, Eaton Corporation, Stryker Corporation and Southwest Michigan First. Since then, United 4 Change has generated dynamic improvements in reading proficiency and engaged hundreds of students in mentorships, career fairs, externships and training.
According to U4C Core Team Chairman Brian Boukalik, “We’re eager to recruit more business partners and volunteers so we can grow early grade reading and offer more opportunities for students to engage in careers.”
